Canon recently launched its next generation imageFORMULA DR-G2 series of production scanners and we’re delighted to tell you we now stock all three models.
The new imageFORMULA DR-G2090, DR-G2110 and DR-G2140 are the latest additions to Canon’s award-winning range of imageFORMULA production scanners. Perhaps the most significant update is the high volume A3 scanning capabilities, combined with enhanced efficiency, high image quality and an optional LAN interface.

Increased productivity
The imageFORMULA DR-G2 models use Canon’s latest CIS sensor technology and recently developed onboard DR processor chip to enable high speed scanning and image processing. With the ability to scan up to 280 images per minute in colour, at a resolution of 300dpi, these ultra-fast A3 scanners take production scanning to a whole new level! Take the DR-G2140 model, for example… It can deliver up to 70,000 scans per day.
The robust feeder mechanism which features on all three models, enables users to scan mixed documents together into the scanner, with pages being reliably fed and separated. Using the folio mode feature, you can scan mixed paper sizes and thicknesses, right down from business cards up to A1 sized documents. Other features designed to help enhance productivity include a large capacity 500 sheet feeder for handling high volume scan batches without any interruption, and ‘Fast Start Scan’ which significantly minimises delays after the start button has been pressed.
Integrated connectivity
With more and more businesses facing the demand for connected document capture, the imageFORMULA DR-G2 series features an embedded LAN interface delivering innovative integrated connectivity. This is particularly beneficial for organisations with limited space, as there’s no need to compromise on the quality of your hardware. The devices can connect via LAN interface or USB, so the need for a dedicated PC or software application is completely eradicated.
The imageFORMULA DR-G2090, DR-G2110 and DR-G2140 also feature ISIS/TWAIN/WIA and Kofax VRS Drivers. This supports integration into various scanning applications and means they’ll fit seamlessly into existing hardware configurations.
Exceptional quality
The imageFORMULA DR-G2 series has been designed to deliver consistently high-quality images. All three models are optimised for accurate data extraction, workflow processing and archiving into document management systems. The devices also offer a new image processing mode, ‘Active Thresholding’, which allows customers to scan mixed documents with different texts, colours and backgrounds without adjusting any image settings. Active Thresholding compensates for variations in document background by automatically adjusting the brightness for each page.
Intelligent processing
Businesses will love the barcode and 2D code recognition, which offers users the capability of automatically separating batches, sorting them into multipage, named files by using the barcode information for file naming or indexing. This is all part of providing customers with the technology that will help remove those time-consuming, manual scanning tasks and allow large volumes of information to be processed more quickly and easily than ever before.
Last but not least, all three devices feature Canon’s CaptureOnTouch Pro software, which enhances the efficiency of the entire scanning process. The software’s intuitive shortcuts menu offers easy, effective scanning at the touch of a button and converts scans directly to multiple file formats including searchable and editable PDF, compact PDF/A, multi-page TIFF and PowerPoint.
