We’re delighted to announce that the next edition of Canon’s third generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform is here. This 3rdedition of the third generation platform means upgrades across every device in the imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFP series.

We’re excited, because the new features support us in our commitment to delivering the latest innovations in office technology. The new hardware and software have been designed to enhance productivity using intelligent document workflows within even the most demanding office environments.

Here we’ve explored some of the features in more detail…

  • Increased security

Data protection is a high priority for every business, and this has been taken into consideration with the third generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE 3rd edition platform. The upgrade includes a range of preventative tools, devised specifically to support businesses in avoiding security vulnerabilities.

For the first time, Canon has introduced Security Information Event Management (SIEM) integration, which is a significant shift. SIEM solutions collect and analyse data from a company’s IT environment and provide real-time indicators of potential security threats.

This, and other new security features, including automatic security certificate updates, have been installed at the design level of the new imageRUNNER ADVANCE models. It’s all part of equipping customers with a comprehensive solution that will help improve business efficiency and reduce the burden on IT teams.

  • Improved user experience

The latest edition of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE multifunctional printers are even more intuitively designed for an optimal user experience. The new user interface features a customisable and flexible display, which enables more streamlined tasks and workflows, allowing users to store user behaviour and provide shortcuts for past or repetitive jobs, for example.

Canon has also responded to the needs of businesses that are looking to improve agility and their capacity to operate from anywhere. The new MFPs will be fitted with a QR-Code Direct Connection, which means iOS users can use Wi-Fi for direct connection through either a default iOS camera app or Canon PRINT Business (CPB) camera feature, improving mobile interaction and flexibility. An OCR mode is available during scanning to provide accurate identification of 25 different European languages.

This advanced personalisation and connectivity across the entire device portfolio represents significantly improved productivity for the entire workforce.

  • Streamlined processes

To further support this upgrade, Canon’s BLI award-winning cloud-based solution uniFLOW has also been updated. Businesses will benefit from the increased synergy between the hardware and software, which will help streamline internal processes. This latest version – uniFLOW Online 2019.1 – offers additional functionality such as Print from Cloud functionality and compatibility with a range of service providers including Box, Dropbox, Evernote®, Google Drive™, Microsoft OneDrive®, and Microsoft SharePoint® Online.

The 3rd edition of the following Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE models will be available in the coming months: imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4500 III Series, imageRUNNER ADVANCE 6500 III Series, imageRUNNER ADVANCE 8500 III Series, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C356iF III Series, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C3500 III Series, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5500 III Series, and imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7500 III Series.
